Welcome to RhymeSeekr (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site at rhymeseekr.com, you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. The Service
RhymeSeekr is a free, browser-based tool that helps you discover rhymes, near rhymes, homophones, synonyms, antonyms, and other related words. The Site is intended for personal, educational, and creative use such as writing poetry, songs, and other original work.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Site.
3. Acceptable Use
When you use the Site, you agree that you will not:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Use automated scripts, scrapers, crawlers, or other data-harvesting tools to extract content from the Site in bulk.
- Use the Site’s content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate artificial intelligence or machine-learning models without express written permission.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its underlying infrastructure.
- Resell, relicense, or commercially redistribute the Site’s content or search results as a standalone product.
- Use the Site to harass, defame, or harm others.
You may display, print, or download content from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. Using individual results (for example, including a rhyme in a song you wrote) is permitted and expected.
4. Third-Party Services and Data
RhymeSeekr is built on top of free, third-party services. In particular, the Site makes requests on your behalf to, or loads content from:
- Datamuse, which provides rhyme, sound, and meaning-related word suggestions.
- Free Dictionary API, which provides definitions and pronunciations.
- Google Fonts, which provides the Site’s typeface.
- Google AdSense, which serves advertising on the Site. See the Privacy Policy for details on cookies, personalization, and consent.
These services are operated by third parties, are subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and may change or become unavailable at any time. RhymeSeekr does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of these services, including the specific advertisements that may be displayed on the Site.
5. Intellectual Property
The design, layout, code, and original text of the Site are the property of the Site’s operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Word data, definitions, and pronunciations displayed on the Site are provided by the third-party services listed above and are subject to their respective licenses. Dictionary definitions are primarily sourced from public and open-licensed sources via the Free Dictionary API.
6. No Warranty
The Site and all information, results, and content provided through it are offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. The Site does not guarantee that rhymes, definitions, pronunciations, or other content will be complete, accurate, up to date, or suitable for any specific purpose.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site’s operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Changes to the Site and the Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Site’s operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from or related to the Site or these Terms will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, to the extent permitted by law.
